Cinedigm Expands Real Madrid TV Distribution to US and Canada |

August 3, 2021

Cinedigm, the independent streaming company, has announced a partnership with Spanish football club Real Madrid.

The partnership will expand the distribution of the team’s branded sports broadcast channel, making the team more accessible than ever to North American fans. Real Madrid TV will offer thousands of hours of fan-centric football content through to the 2021-2022 season and will also offer 2-3 games per week once the season has started.

The service will be available in the United States and Canada for linear and AVoD platforms on smart TVs, digital set-top boxes, media streaming devices, as well as on the web.

The streaming channel is the latest addition to Cinedigm’s list of channels currently airing in the wider OTT landscape on channel partners including The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, Samsung, TCL, Tubi and many more.

The deal was negotiated by Josh Thomashow, Executive Director, Cinedigm Acquisitions, and SPORTFIVE on behalf of Real Madrid.

“Football is the most popular sport in the world with an extreme level of fandom,” said Erick Opeka, president of Cinedigm Digital Networks. “Partnering with Real Madrid and providing this global club with an exclusive home to many of the largest OTT distribution partners in North America will allow viewers to experience content never before released in the United States. Fans will feel like they are a part of all the action with interviews, matches, and news they can’t get anywhere else, and content will be updated weekly to keep fans engaged.
