With such a talented and highly drafted QB joining the depths chart, Garoppolo’s days as a starting quarterback in the Bay Area are numbered – regardless of everything. emphatic coach speaks touting the oft-injured veteran as the team’s starter.

As such, it’s crucial to assess the 2021 San Francisco 49ers through the lens of Throws under the center. He It won’t be long before he takes the starting position – and he’s the most exciting option for fantasy football anyway.

2021 team preview

Only one rookie quarterback drafted in the first round has been under strict bench requirements since 2010. That was last year with Jordan Love, and the situation was unique in that sense there was never a reason to Green Bay Packers give work to Love with Aaron Rodgers play at MVP level. Love did not benefit from a preseason either.

Quarterbacks drafted in the top three caps (like Lance) have started an average of 13.7 games as rookies since 2010. Garoppolo will need to play at a borderline elite level to keep Lance off the field, and that doesn’t seem likely. .

It’s clear why the 49ers traded for Lance in the first place. Garoppolo just hasn’t been able to stay healthy in recent seasons, having has started less than 50% of 49ers games since 2018. And he doesn’t even offer many benefits within Kyle Shanahan’s offensive.

Jimmy G’s big time shot rate, ranked 38th (2.7%) and yards ranked No.1 after catching pass percentage (56%) since 2019 show a high quarterback by the system, and not the other way around.

This is why Lance’s potential in this offense is so enticing for his fantasy football prospects. He benefits from a system that has helped Garoppolo (8.3) and even Nick mullens (7.9) to the finishes of first and sixth respectively in passing yards per attempt since 2017.

But Lance adds extra elements, an elite rusher and a field thrower that will make him virtually unstoppable as a fantastic quarterback. the 2021 PFF NFL Draft Guide compared Lance to Taysom Hill with a bazooka for arm.

He has a career aDOT of 11.5 and a passer rating of 118.8 on over 30 throwing yards. In his only full season as a starter in 2019, Lance ran for 1,150 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns. If doctors were asked to build the perfect ‘fantasy football quarterback’, the player would look like Lance.

So please draft and hide Lance (current ADP: QB14) whenever possible – he will take teams to the fantasy playoffs. No team has it easier calendar strength for quarters than San Francisco.

However, Lance’s arrival doesn’t necessarily mean the team’s talented pass-catchers are gearing up, as the offense promises to be extremely heavy.

The 49ers were the only team to lead football more in a neutral game scenario than the New England Patriots there is a season. They’ve worn the stone in 52% of those plays, and the ground-centric approach can only increase once Lance gets into the lineup. The rookie has attempted less than 20 assists per game in more than half of his college starts.

According to The Athletic 49ers reporter Matt Barrows, San Francisco wants to throw the ball 500 times this season – a feat achieved by just four teams in the past two seasons. The 49ers came very close to the mark in 2019 (498) en route to a Super Bowl appearance, so it makes sense that they want to return to the winning formula. But what’s most interesting is that Shanahan has already orchestrated an attack that ended with over 500 ground attempts.

In 2012, the Washington football team, led by the mobile rookie quarterback Robert griffin iii, led the NFL in the race. With the 49ers looking to fully embrace the ground game, snagging chunks from the backfield is a must in the 2021 fantastic draft.
