Waggon and Horses lead the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division after a 5-2 victory over Chester Nomads III with goals from James Henry, Nahidur Rahman, Ellis Moore and a brace from Billy Fennell.
Black Horse and Hooton FC drew 1-1, with Adam Walker and Ben Lennon being the respective scorers. The Hoole Rangers move up to fourth after a fine 2-0 victory over Runcorn Sports III thanks to strikes from Connor Howley and James Maloney.
Unitor’s was postponed after their opponents were unable to raise a camp. This will now be handled by the CWFL. Groves MKS is now five points ahead of the CWFL Olympic Trophy Championship after their 2-0 away win over the Port Sunlight Nomads with goals from Danny Page and Mark Roberts. Helsby III is second after their 7-0 win over Orange Athletic with goals from Adam Harding 2, Adam Randles 2, Matty Leedham, Jordan Egan and Mitch Jarvis. The game between FC Duddon and Great Sutton ended in a 1-1 draw.
Luca Trasatti scored for Duddon and Andy Hughes scored for Great Sutton. In Division 1 of the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets, the Mersey Royal Vets finally started their season with a 5-4 victory over Higher Bebington Kelma Vets. Higher Bebington’s goals came via Ged McWhaa 2, Steve Dawson and Ben McWhaa.
The Pockets Vets are at the top of the division after a 3-1 win over Upton JFC Vets with goals from Scott Taylor (2) and Danny Fox. Seane Hegarty brought consolation to the Neston Nomads Vets in their 6-1 loss to Capenhurst Villa Vets.
In CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division 2, the Winsford Diamonds FC Vets claimed a convincing 9-3 victory over the Dee Rangers Vets with goals thanks to Liam Goulding (5), Gary Sargent, Ricky Billinge, Shaun Fletcher and Ryan Ashall. Dee’s goals came from Jason Lucas, Richard Dalton and an own own goal. Nags Head Bunbury is second after a 5-1 victory over the Frodsham Park Vets thanks to goals from Alex Morrisroe (2) and a hat-trick from Henry Buckley.
Marc Baiton was Frodsham’s sniper. Marc Evan scored for Ellesmere Port Red Lion Vets in their 1-1 draw with Tarvin Athletic Vets. In the Wirral and District FA Amateur Cup, Shaftesbury youth reserves lost 5-1 to Capenhurst Villa reserves, Joe Roberts their scorer.
In the Chester and District FA Challenge Cup, Hoole Rovers lost 7-0 at home to Blacon Youth while Christleton FC beat Upton JFC Youth 6-1. In the group stages of the Mid Cheshire FA Cup, the Winsford Saxons lost 9-1 to Middlewich Town.
