The South Carolina soccer team have received a ton of good news regarding the players returning for the 2022 season. Just this week defensemen Brad Johnson, RJ Roderick and Zacch Pickens all announced their intention to return to Columbia for a final year as they continue to lay the groundwork under coach Shane Beamer.
Now it looks like another important piece will join them on the pitch for one final tour.
On3 Sports announced tonight that wide receiver Josh Vann is scheduled to return for the Gamecocks next season.
Vann was the team’s main receiving threat last year, with a team record 43 catches for 679 yards and six touchdowns. Those three scores were career records as well, surpassing the production he had totaled in his previous three seasons combined.
Vann has three 100-yard games, including in SEC contests against Georgia and Florida. He’s scored touchdown receptions in three of his last four games played.
After that game against the Gators, where he finished with 111 yards and one score, the Gamecock media team had fun by posting a hilarious video of the touchdown. In the social media post we got to see just what Vann could have done in a game where there was no defender within 10 yards.
Find out below.
If Vann returned, it would give the offensive a boost. An official pass receiver announcement should arrive soon.
