Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been arrested for death threats and sexual assault

Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been arrested again on suspicion of making death threats and sexual assault.

The 20-year-old striker, also an England international, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of rape and assault.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they have been granted more time to question Greenwood, after an initial extension was granted on Monday.

Following previous charges against Greenwood, United said the player will not be training or playing for the club until further notice.

“We are deeply concerned by these disturbing allegations and will continue to monitor the situation closely,” a spokesperson said.

Following news of the new charges, Manchester United issued a further statement on the matter, saying: “Manchester United reiterate their strong condemnation of violence of any kind. As previously announced, Mason Greenwood will not be training with the club. nor will he play for him until later notice.”
