Depay, despite his club’s need to sell, has actually had a brilliant campaign in numbers.

According to WhoScored, the Dutch international is Xavi’s third-best player in La Liga with an average match rating per 90 (7.14) and has even racked up the most combined goals and assists for them domestically (12G, 2A).

called a a phenomenal all-round striker‘ by the BBC Sport writer and Premier League Panel football analyst last year, he has certainly maintained that tag in 2021/2022.

Depay’s club reportedly value him at around €40m (£34m) and that’s a bargain considering his form and the fact that the former Lyon star is still in his prime at 28 years.
