Which former Buckeye WR has the best team fit?

Ohio State’s football program had a pretty good night of its own in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. On Thursday night, three former Buckeye wide receivers were drafted in a row, all in the top 12. Needless to say it was a great night if you were a Buckeye receiver.

Of these three players who were drafted last night, which of them was drafted in the best situation? Garrett Wilson was drafted by the Jets, Chris Olave was selected by the Saints and Jameson Williams was selected by the Lions. These are our options.

In my opinion, Olave ended up in the best situation. Not only is he paired up with former Buckeye wide receiver Michael Thomas, his team is better prepared to win now. The Saints can still challenge for the playoffs this coming season.

I think the Saints having Thomas back next year and adding Olave gives the offense a whole new dimension. If they can improve the defense a bit, New Orleans should be in the thick of the action when December and January roll around. It’s a good football team.

The Jets and Lions are still pretty far from a playoff team, although I like what the Jets did with their two first-round picks. I think they are closer to being a winning team than the Lions, but Williams will definitely help kickstart that effort.

These three guys improve their respective teams just by being added to the roster. I would expect all of these teams to have better offensive numbers thanks to these receivers. This should lead to an increase in wins.

I will definitely be watching all of these guys’ careers from this season and beyond. They should all become very good players.
